Newt Gingrich declares victory: 'I’m going to be the nominee

by Jed Lewison

Endzone dance!

JAKE TAPPER, ABC NEWS: How do you respond to Republicans who say if you don’t draw distinctions with Mitt Romney and others who are attacking you, if you don’t point out their perceived vulnerabilities, Barack Obama and the Democrats sure aren’t going to share that same reluctance and you are doing Obama a favor by staying positive?

NEWT GINGRICH: They are not going to be the nominee. I don’t have to go around and point out the inconsistencies of people who are not going to be the nominee. They are not going to be the nominee.

TAPPER: You are going to be the nominee?

GINGRICH: I’m going to be the nominee.

Congratulations, Newt. Oh, will you please let me know when the first vote is cast?

1. How many times did he say "Frankly" ???
Because apparently, because he's been such an incredible Liar, he needs to remind people when he thinks he is telling the truth.

2. People don't like to be told who the nominee is going to be
especially when no votes have been cast and it's far from inevitable.

Of course, maybe Republicans are into "freaky" things like that, so I don't know.

I was watching it thinking "Ooo Newtie thinks he has himself the nomination"

Well he is the only true old South type Republican left and the are still the party of the South and they is where a lot of their money comes from. Just saying.

5. The Delusion in Newt is profound to the point of a sad joke...our poor America....Lady Liberty is in
depression and taking sedatives..

Newt is a hint of what went wrong for the once powerful GOP.....his traits mirror them Baggers...Lie Cheat Steal are their Basics in series politics...

7. The guys a fruit loop.
I'd say we need to require all Presidential candidates submit to a psych exam, but we'd lose the Republican Party.

Hey...wait a minute

9. I am sure the Republican primary voters are thrilled to realize that their votes don't matter.

Sounds as if Newt had a "Mission Accomplished" moment. Counting chickens, eggs hatched, Newt.
