2. I would just be, "OK then bye now!'
Why are they all such assholes? They're afraid of civil discourse because they can't win a rational argument.

4. Ask him why he hates America...
And ask him why he's disrespecting the Commander in Chief in wartime?

If he doesn't like America, he should get the fuck out of my country, post haste.

6. I had to defriend someone today because of my post about Obama.

"In this season of hope, let's help those who need it most: the homeless, the hungry, the sick and shut-in...In this season of plenty, let's reach out to those who struggle to find work or provide for their families." Barack Obama. (I sooooo love this man.)

She responded with:
"I do that everyday here in Maggie Valley and even our church is going to West Virginia. My question would be . What is President Obama personally doing himself and is it with his own finances like we the citizens are doing? I'd rather see a sermon that hear one..."

So I replied:
"I think the better question is what hasn't he done to promote these ideals? Those who stand against Obama are some of the poorest excuses for being Christian I've ever known and for the most part would rather see the homeless and the poor remain that way. Just look at what his opposition espouses (in the name of religion, no less). President Obama has always done for the less able (isn't that one of the main reasons the Tea Party doesn't like him? Because he's more than willing to give a handout to those who need it...). Yes, he's always helped the needy, but those who hate him will not acknowledge this in any shape or form. I personally believe that he IS a walking sermon but none are so blind as those who will not see. This man has a moral heart and a kind and loving demeanor and I'm proud we have a man of his character in the White House. Actually I agree with you as I don't hold much cotton to the spoken sermon either. I think hearing a sermon does little if any good, especially when it comes from the pulpit of organized religion. But having said that, if it makes your church folk feel better about themselves that they're "going to Virginia", more power to you. I'm sure some good will come of it. Just recently reread Matthew 6:1-34. I hardly ever heard that preached in church. Wonder why?"

Then I marked her off my list. Oh well, this too shall pass.

10. Oh, ye Gods, don't tell me that these idiots are coming to my state.
For the first time in my life, I sincerely hope that someone who said "West Virginia" is actually erroneously referring to West-ERN Virgnia...

11. To answer her question....
Her question was: "What is President Obama personally doing himself and is it with his own finances like we the citizens are doing?"

Here's a partial answer

On December 10, 2009, Obama accepted the prize (Nobel Peace Prize) in Oslo. In a 36-minute speech, he discussed the tensions between war and peace and the idea of a "just war". Obama announced early that he would donate the full 10 million Swedish kronor (about US$1.4 million) monetary award to charity. The largest donations were given to the housing charity Fisher House Foundation who received $250,000, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund which received $200,000. Eight organizations which support education also received a donation. $125,000 were donated to the College Summit, the Posse Foundation, the United Negro College Fund, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation, and the American Indian College Fund. $100,000 was donated to Africare, and the Central Asia Institute. SNIP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Nobel_Peace_Prize

---

President Obama has donated $1.4 million of his personal Nobel Prize money to charity, plus additional money the Obama's have donated which is listed on their publicly released yearly tax forms.

President Obama and his family have volunteered at various homeless/food shelters several times each year.

President Obama has sent 'his personal checks' to people in need: http://www.essence.com/2011/10/22/pres-obama-sends-personal-checks-to-struggling-americans/

I'm sure there is much more that I can't think of off the top of my head right now, that's something to pass onto folks :)

13. I did the same once.
She posted this bit of right wing "humor" on her Facebook page:

Dear Lord, in the past year you have taken away my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite musician, Michael Jackson, my favorite salesman, Billie Mays, and my favorite athlete, Chris Henry. I just wanted to let you know..... my favorite president is Barack Obama. Amen.

I really don't need people like that in my life.

19. Not for criticizing Obama but for denigrading his character.
She took a post by me quoting inspirational words by Obama and turned it into a political attack on him. I don't mind people criticizing our President as long as the criticism can be backed up with intelligent logic. This wasn't. :hi:

Seems pretty standard for a conservative.

When it comes to friends, live and let live.......or they won't be your friends for much longer.
