TPM Livewire: Huntsman Flip Flops On Climate Change

Huntsman Flip Flops On Climate Change

Jon Huntsman attended a packed blogger sit down at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. TPM’s Evan McMorris-Santoro attended, pressing the GOP presidential candidate about his position on climate change.

In August, Huntsman acknowledged the broad body of science pointing to climate change. Seated at an elite conservative think tank, however, Huntsman played a different tune, saying climate scientists “owe us more” information before we can decide if climate change is real.

“I think there’s probably more debate to be played out within the scientific community,” he said.

1. He also flip-flopped on healthcare mandates:

2. Help me understand something...
I totally get why disbelieving in climate change syncs with the right-wing pro-business and anti-regulation agenda... But, I don't get why the social-conservative don't want to believe. Are they just following marching orders or is there some specific religious reason?

3. Further proof (as if any is necessary)
that it's sort of pointless to worry about exactly WHO will be GOP nominee next year when whoever it is is going to be beholden to the GOP Tea Party no matter what. The race will be about whether the public wants President Obama running the country or the GOP Tea Party. If it's framed like that, then I don't see how we can lose IMHO.

4. Now there's the act of one very desperate man
At least Romney flip-flops because he sees that he has some kind of a chance. To compromise your beliefs when you have zero chance of winning is truly cowardly.
