BEIJING, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush Tuesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, calling for closer cooperation between China and the United States.

Xi took time during the meeting to applaud Bush's attention to, and efforts in, the development of China-U.S. relations.

"Despite ups and downs, the general relationship between China and the United States has been pushing ahead over the past 40 years," Xi said, adding that bilateral ties have become the most important in the world.

The Bush family has made great contributions to promoting relations between China and the United States, "which the two nations and the two peoples will not forget," the Chinese vice president said. ..... For his part, Bush said that he will continue making contributions to the development of bilateral ties and economic cooperation between the two nations.

I have a whiff of suspicion that this visit touches on continued financing of the deliberate push by wealthy conservatives to dismantle public education in America by pushing charter schools, voucher programs and declaring war on teachers' unions. It takes lots of money to train new operatives.

As long as tearing down public education, extracting its funding and steering it to wealthy investors pays off for people such as Jeb Bush, there you will find him.

Or, maybe Poppy simply thought he should go over for a little visit, to carry on the family tradition.

Who named Jeb Bush ambassador?

1. Jebby's gotta get his intl street cred before he runs seriously for 2016. they know Obama is in...
the current crop of GOPers running is HIDEOUS. Romney is a snotty snooty arrogant pompous POS who thinks he's all that and displays it. Newt, well, God bless that pushy red faced silver fox, but he's about as unblemished as a poor ol' stray cat. They are horrible candidates. Jeb is banking on the decent odds that Obama wins again, setting up a clear chance for BUSH III for America. :puke:

Get it now, or one of a million other designs! http://www.zazzle.com/republicans_2012_keeping_millions_out_of_work_bumper_sticker-128659602907896843?rf=238107662556833486

2. Bush III to finish us off, for sure. The OP reminds me of
a song during the 60s, that said:
"The new idea is:
Don't attack America;
wear it down gradually;
it'll eventually fall under the weight of its own corruption.
And did you know, it's working?"

I can't tell you how many times I've thought of this song over the years. :sigh:
:hi:

3. so true... But, we'll never stop fighting for what's right and just!
you know bushy would love to help the labor class of America to lose the remaining labor jobs to China, just so they can further control us by destroying the union vote and increase corporate profits...

they must be fought by making sure we make everyone we know understand they are out to protect the 1% only...

4. People should wonder why Bushes set up deals to transfer US manufacturing to China in the 70s
beginning with Jackson Stephens' deals that set up WalMart with Chinese industrialists. Prescott Bush wasn't the President of US-China Chamber of Commerce all those years because of a soft spot for dim sum.

5. Is it possible for the Republicans to nominate a new candidate such
as Bush during the convention? If so, that might be why Jeb is in China. nt
