MSNBC's Electoral Vote Projection
MSNBC's Electoral Vote Projection

Looks like it could be close. Obama has a slight edge

Solid Dem (no chance at flip): DC, DE, HI, ME (3 EVs) MD, MA, NY, RI, VT (70 electoral votes)

Likely Dem (takes a landslide to flip): CA, CT, IL, WA (94)

Lean Dem: ME (1 EV) MN, NJ, NM, OR, MI, WI (63)

That makes 227 EV

Toss-up: CO, FL, NV, NC, OH, PA, VA, NH (114)

Lean GOP: AZ, GA, IA, MO, (43)

Likely GOP (takes a landslide to flip): AL, AR, IN, LA, MS, MT, NE (1 EV), ND, SC, SD, TX (97)

Solid GOP (no chance at flip): AK, ID, KS, KY, NE (4 EVs) OK, TN, UT, WV, WY (57)

That makes 197 EV

1. Are they taking Todd's word for it? That man has an agenda and it is not

a leftie agenda.

For example:

1/ Was it mentioned that Republicans have been campaigning against Obama for six years and Romney and the rest of the Republican primary field starting formally campaigning against Obama months and months ago, while Obama just recently starting campaigning against Romney?

2/ Was it mentioned that polls before Labor Day are almost completely unreliable? That polls before that are done for the purpose of shaping public opinion, much more than for the purpose of simply measuring or predicting public opinion? No, of course not, because media is always trying to shape public opinion--and most often in whatever direction Republicans and the Koch brothers prefer.

3/ Also,in 2008, it was often mentioned that people polled might not admit to a pollster that they did not intend to vote against an African American, so even polls showing a win by Obama might prove unreliable. I think the same might well be true as to evangelicals and Mormons, whom many evangelicals consider to be "of the Devil." Not that they would necessarily vote for Obama, but they might stay home.

However, we hear not a word from the media about that. In fact, we rarely hear from the media very much about Romney's religion. (We've posure heard a boat load about Obama's alleged religion for years.)

Now, am I saying Obama will win?

No. I am not. I think he will most likely win, but I never want Democrats to be either too confident or too despairing before an election, especially before the campaign has officially even begun. Besides, the pit of my stomach seems to scare more easily than my mind. (Luckily, my mind governs speech and can tell the pit of my stomach to shut up.)

However, I AM saying that MSNBC's reporting has an agenda, unless it gave the full picture to help people analyze the data intelligently at the same time they gave their polling data. Their motive does not even have to be political: close elections make better television than do sure things. But, it's probably political, too, especially if this data originated with Todd, as opposed to, say, Shultz or Maddow.

4. That is the first time I've seen a poster agree with themselves under the same screen name.
I've seen plenty agree with themselves, but they remember to change socks.
