Man In Charge of Assassinating People Resigns After Having Sex

Following revelations of an extramarital affair, Gen. David Petraeus resigned Friday as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, a clandestine organization responsible for countless assassinations worldwide. The four-star general, who was frequently commended for his oversight of operations that wrought death and destabilization to every corner of the globe, offered his resignation after shamefully admitting to sex with a woman who was not his wife.

Petraeus had long been considered a presidential contender thanks to his storied career in the military and national security apparatus. Most recently, that career took him to the pinnacle of the intelligence community, where he managed an organization that routinely murders human beings outside of both accepted international legal conventions and constitutional boundaries. Insiders say he loved the “intellectual challenge” of working at an agency that, according to various reports, was responsible for almost 900 civilian deaths, including 176 children, in the past eight years. However, Petraeus tarnished that sterling legacy when he became intimate with his female biographer.

“The damage he did is irrevocable,” said military historian Gene Higgins. “He had overseen dozens of drone strikes that killed people of all ages, completely outside of any legal framework. Things were looking good for him. Then he had to go and have consensual sexual relations with a woman. What was he thinking?”
