17. If, then, else | IF HCR is unconstitutional, THEN torture is unconstitutional, ELSE - STFU!
I love logic.

4. Aren't they talking about the Nebraska deal - which really does seem unfair...
...if not unconstitutional.

11. That was one of the things brought up
But there were others too. It was obvious that it was a reason of the day to stop the bill attack.

6. Yeah, I turned the volume down about a half hour ago
Couldnt stand their whining any longer.

This is their standard argument when they have no solid stance.

10. Well I think it's a little different
The war in Afghanistan has been going on since 2001 and the chickenhawks have yet to suit up for battle.

This HCR bill hasn't passed yet, but it looks like passage is imminent.

14. Actually it's a good question
Is mandating, by law, that a person has to purchase a good or service just to legally live in this country seems pretty unconstitutional to me. As they they say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

15. Exactly
Driving is considered a privilege, not a right - thus the requirement by many states that you carry auto insurance.

Living is considered a right, not a privilege - is there to be a fee, tax, fine, or whatever they want to call it on merely breathing air and maintaining brain function?

18. I've questioned the constitutionality of mandating a private product myself
It will be discussed and decided by the courts.

19. particularly by the federal government, and using the IRS as an enforcer
The IRS will take people's homes away if they don't buy expensive faulty private insurance. This feature of the bill smacks of tyranny.
