The Senate bill includes community health centers, state exchanges and this:
More Health Insurance Choices
  • Multi-state option. Health insurance carriers will offer plans under the supervision of the Office of Personnel Management, the same entity that oversees health plans for Members of Congress. At least one plan must be non-profit, and the plans will be available nationwide. This will promote competition and choice.

  • Free choice vouchers. Workers who qualify for an affordability exemption to the individual responsibility policy but do not qualify for tax credits can take their employer contribution and join an exchange plan.

10. google. it's public info. Clinton outsourced the investigative arm
CG bought it a few years later. So the Bin Laden Group owned a part of the OPM contract.

11. I can't verify this googling it. I need an actual SOURCE for your claim.
Not that I do not believe you.

I just figured if you KNOW the source then let me have it so I can verify it.

Googling your assertion doesn't work. I need tighter search terms but IF YOU KNOW PLEASE let me know the source.

Google is not a good enough source on this claim.

6. I agree. I only wish more could see the positives of this reform.
It might not have what everyone expected and somethings people just don't like, but it still rights alot of wrongs and is a good stepping stone.

5. The bad outweighs the good
Consider how the voters will react when they find out that the IRS is going to go after their assets if they fail to buy the faulty insurance the industry offers. Consider the rage of those with union-won employer insurance when they find out their benefits are going to be taxed.

8. and older people will pay 3 times as much in premiums, and it gets worse
Under that plan, insurance companies can punish older people, charging them much higher rates than the House bill would allow.

In the House, we fought hard to repeal McCarran-Ferguson, the antitrust exemption that insurance companies have enjoyed for years. We did that because we believed firmly that those Fortune 500 corporations should not enjoy special treatment.

Yet the Senate bill does not include that provision -- despite assurances from some members that they will seek to add it. By ending that protection, we will be able to go after insurance companies with federal penalties for misleading advertising or dishonest business practices.

The House bill would cover 96 percent of legal residents, while the Senate covers 94 percent. Compared with the House bill, the Senate's bill makes it much easier for employers to avoid the responsibility of providing insurance for their workers.

12. You still don't get it.
All the insurance companies can operate across state lines. Two edged sword. They will all move to the state with the weakest regs.
