How about a way to reduce white space at DU?

This is more of a suggestion than a question. I don't expect a reply but I hope you'll consider it the next time you make adjustments to the site.

I was just reducing the brightness on my monitor after spending too much time at DU again. So much white gets to be a strain on the eyes. It would be nice to have the option of having the background be a milder color, like a light gray or blue.

1. We are (intermittently) working on a redesign.

This is not a feature that we have considered. But the new site will be entirely CSS, so it would be much easier to give people options like this.
