Why are all the threads celebrating the defeat of 'Blue Dogs' being allowed?

Many of us in the Southern states actually worked for the campaigns, donated money, and voted for these moderate Democratic Senators and Representatives. I find it offensive that our candidates' losses are a cause for celebration given the extreme harm it has done to the Democratic Party.

I believe if one were to use a tool such as Project Vote Smart to compare the record of Sen. Blanche Lincoln to other Democratic Senators, one would find that she was a strong supporter of abortion rights, civil rights, financial reform, education, etc. Maybe even more so than some from 'Blue states'.

1. I understand that you don't like to see this

There is obviously a wide range of opinion here at DU and while we don't like to see anybody going overboard trashing Democrats people are allowed to be critical of the party and of Democratic politicians. However, if we start getting into the area of gloating over losses then that might be a problem. My suggestion to you is to alert on posts if you feel people are doing this, and see if the mods agree with your point of view.
