Town Hall meetings aren’t faring too well for the GOP in their attempt to explain their want for cuts to Medicare.
Out of touch, off the cuff remarks using the word, “struggling” in the midst of hard working Americans is a hard pill to swallow.
Medicare is one of the mechanisms that our country utilizes to protect the elderly from plunging into debt and/or death and sickness. Not having Medicare would be the very definition of struggling for most seniors.
Earlier this week in Montana, Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT) held a Town Hall meeting that didn’t work to his advantage. After comparing the struggles of every day middle class Americans with his own financial situation, he walked in Sen. Duffy’s footsteps, saying he’s ‘struggling’ as a small businessman. A constituent asked him what his own net worth is and he said he’s “land rich and cash poor"
