Louisiana Republican Wants To Send Women Who Have Abortions To Prison

This Republican wants to now eradicate all abortions in his state and sentence both women and doctors who commit this crime the ban to 15 years hard labor. The law would make no exceptions for cases of danger to the health of the mother, incest or rape, and would essentially be an attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade in the state of Louisiana.

That’s the plan. This law is purely political, an attempt to get the attention of pro-choice groups to challenge it in the courts and with the current make-up of the United States Supreme Court, overturn Roe vs. Wade entirely.

brings to mind the days I lived in Metry back in the 80s, when i wrote my pro choice LTTEs to the T-P. i got printed pretty frequently which resulted in rebuttals, hate mail, and hate phone calls. good times. if anyone had told me then that in 2011, The Handmaid's Tale would be potentially closer to reality than ever, and that the Christo-Fascist faction of the Repub party would be trying over a four month period to enact hundreds of laws to attack the autonomy, and the civil, human, and Constitutional rights, of female US citizens - well, maybe i shouldn't really be so surprised.

if abortion is murder it should result in a prison sentence, maybe even the death sentence. That's the logical outcome of their argument. As some would say, "so be it." This should be brought up at every debate. They want abortion to be illegal but never talk about what the punishment should be.
