At leasst the nutballs who always profess that all Dems aare doves and can't do anything militarily will have to recognize that Osama was eliminated under direction of a Dem President. Yea, they'll try to spin it differently, but the fational people of the US will know what happened.

2. Remember as you debate the rightwings about this that Obama specifically refocused
On Afganistan. He owns this. He should get the credit. Those saying that there was no respite in the search for Bin Laden are talking BS. Bush dropped the ball and headed off to his fantasy of attacking Iraq. Obama has ended that war and refocused on Afganistan.

This is a solid victory for the administration and don't let the nay saying assholes say anything otherwise!

3. You're right. This should be remembered and not be minimized.
I really feel a sense of relief with this news.

5. Plus, it was brains over brawn. INTELLIGENCE. Tips. Police work. Shoe-leather. Old-fashioned
digging and finding stuff out, person to person. Network-building. Relationships that beget information and increasingly solid leads. INTELLIGENCE. NOT bombs, guns, and ammo. BRAINS. NOT fists. Sometimes you do it better with finesse rather than clobbering people.

Which is in Pakistan, not Afghanistan.

"Obama has ended that war (Iraq)"

April a deadly month for U.S. troops in Iraq
Eleven U.S. troops died in the worst month since combat missions officially ended last year.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - April was the deadliest month for U.S. military forces in Iraq in nearly a year and a half and the worst by far for American troops since they officially ended combat missions in the country last year, according to military and independent record keepers.

In a statement released here Saturday, U.S. forces said an 11th soldier died Friday while conducting an operation in southern Iraq. With that death, the U.S. military tied its highest body count in Iraq since November 2009, when 11 soldiers also died, according to the website icasualties.org.

Five of the deaths were attributed to bombings and mortar or other attacks, mostly in the majority-Shiite south. Six were classified as noncombat-related.

The spike comes as U.S. officials are urging Iraqi leaders to decide soon whether they want some American troops to stay beyond a year-end deadline for their withdrawal.

8. Better now than later
But better a long time ago than today, even if it would have been Bush "taking credit". bin Laden has been used for too long as justification for the ongoing pointless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
