Crowds cheering in NY and DC

MSNBC is reporting that a crowd gathered outside the White House to cheer and sing "God Bless America". People are also cheering on the streets of NYC.

1. Part of me finds the celebrating to be macabre.

Like cheering at a hanging.

3. I also have that reaction. This sort of feeding frenzy is simply going to stir

a hornet's nest of irrationality.

My dorm was 2 blocks from the White house.

6. CNN's Ed Henry just confirmed what I thought - lots of George Washington U. students there.

The GW campus begins 2 blocks from the White House.

4. Where in NYC?

I live in NYC and have a view of the financial district and I don't hear anything. I am kind of surprised I don't.
