We spent more money, more liberty, more credibility and more sanity killing a single terrorist than we can measaure! Military spending has doubled since 2001, even though this guy was less a threat than cancer, driving, heart disease and a whole bunch of other American killers.
Lack of health insurance kills 45,000 every year. Why aren't we insecure about that?
Is it the 24-hour Fact Free Fear and Hate media?
Politicians trying to get re-elected on the "be very afraid" platform?
Or is it just the Military Industrial Complex feeding itself on the flesh of our sick, our elderly, our children, our service men and women and every other citizen who is not a billionaire?
The criminal act committed on 9-11 should have been treated like the criminal act it was. We should have used international law enforcement structures to help perform the intelligence gathering and man a SWAT team to nail the bastard. Rembember, international good will towards the US was at a high point after 9-11. That's now all wasted.
Some of the money used to wage the wars could have beefed up foreign law enforcement where needed, no doubt at a fraction of the cost of the wars. Another portion could have provided humanitarian aid and stopped the recruitment of 100's of more terrorists.
Over 5,000 American service personnel would still be alive. Over 100,000 would not be maimed.
There, I feel much better now. Thanks for reading.
