TORONTO — NDP leader Jack Layton cast his ballot Monday morning along-side his wife, daughter and granddaughter.
He made the trip to the polling station in Trinity-Spadina - his home riding - around 10 a.m. accompanied by wife and fellow MP Olivia Chow, their daughter, Sarah, and granddaughter Beatrice.
The couple was joined by joined by nine-year-old area resident Sapphire Newman-Fogel as part of Equal Voice's "take a girl to vote" campaign.
The party has been advocating for getting more women involved in politics and is fielding 123 female candidates — the most of any of the major parties.
