Freeper UPDATE: Osama's dead because Bush "Implemented Water-Boarding and Guantanamo Interrogations"
NO, dipshit...Osama's dead because someone close to him gave him up, probably for money...just like Saddam. Dangle the right carrot and someone's gonna go for it. Someone did, you clueless MORAN.

Without Bush Implementing Water-Boarding and Guantanamo Interrogations, Osama Would Still Be Alive

This capture and killing of Osama would not have been possible without Bush being in office. We water-boarded a handful of people, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed being one. He is the guy who gave up the codename for the courier that led to this “justice being served.” …. Confirmation came through other interrogations at Guantanamo Bay — something Dems wanted to close as well.

1. That 's more or less what Elizabeth Hasselback said on The View this morning.
I would guess that if you've been torturing people for 7 plus years and are only NOW able to get bin Laden, that torture did not work.

9. If Elisabeth is saying it, you KNOW the official talking points are
completely disseminating through the wingnut network. Hannity's script has been written - mark my words.

4. The info reached the Pres. Obama in august. He started the operation.
* did what to help this? 0 When * was in office he said that he really didn't care where Osama bin Laden was. He gets no credit now!

6. This reminds me of the GOP response to the Clinton-era economic boom
They said Reagan, not Clinton, caused it to happen.

Of course, I reminded them that GHWBush was the president who preceded Clinton, not Reagan, and GHWBush had a recession during his term.

The No. 1 rule of GOP logic: They get credit for all the good stuff that happens during Dem presidencies, but blame the Dems for all the bad things (like the 2008 economy bust) that occur during GOP presidencies.

7. This is the narrative I was afraid of...
Does anyone have any more details? I read that some detainee gave up intell on the name of Bin Laden's private courier, that it took two years to track him down and two more to find Bin Laden. If this is true it almost sour the victory in my mind. You think Obama has any chance of ever closing Gitmo now?

10. Why would it sour the victory.......
Moving the detsiness from Gitmo to a Federal prison would have yeilded the same information. We wanted Gitmo closed. We never said we should just release all the prisoners.

12. I'm willing to believe that...
Edited on Mon May-02-11 01:17 PM by Gunny1
but is the public? There will now be so many in the intelligence community preaching the gospel of water boarding and electrodes as effective means of extracting information that Obama won't touch this issue with a ten foot pole. Sad but I'm afraid it's true- Gitmo is here to stay.

the next time these Rush lip-readers see a mission accomplished sign, they may learn that it is not always a photo op, but something of consequence actuslly was accomplished.

13. I get it
Bush isn't a war on terror failure. It's just a technicality. He's amazing! He kept America safe for almost 8 years and he killed Osama.

9/11 happened on Bush's watch but it was Clinton's fault and Obama got Bin Laden but it was Bush who deserved the credit.
