Was the "compound" a house or actually a 'prison'?
Did the Pakistani military really not know he Bin Laden was in their backyard? Or did they in fact place him under house arrest years ago in the compound? Perhaps the barbed wire around the walls was to keep people in rather than keep people out?

Would a prisoner have been given a weapon?

5. Yes, I remember him,
but I'm not familiar with whatever story you're referring to. Was he given a weapon or weapons while a prisoner?

6. He surrendered, then lived in a custom built prison that he designed,
guarded by his own men.

One day he got tired of it and just walked out, taking his guards with him.

7. I think it was his house - but I also think the Pakistani govt knew he was there and
was trying to protect him.

People are glossing over the fact that we didn't tell Pakistan about the operation because Obama doesn't trust them. Many of us have been saying they are corrupt all along and Bush never would even look in Pakistan because he trusted them so much. I'm sure the Pak govt/military knew he was there - I'm 100% sure, and they were trying to protect him.

Doesn't matter of it was a house or a prison, they knew, they didn't tell us, so we kept them out of the loop.
