Paul Ryan wrote this opinion piece and published it under his own name. Is it truthful?

<snip>

When the House of Representatives voted last month on a budget to get the nation's finances under control, my hope was that America was ready for an adult conversation about the massive fiscal challenges this country is facing.

These past two weeks, southern Wisconsinites vindicated that hope. Across the district I am honored to represent, thousands of my employers took part in 19 listening sessions to voice concerns, share words of encouragement and offer ideas for how to get this great nation off the path to decline and onto the path to prosperity. I want to offer my thanks to everyone who attended, regardless of whether it was to agree, disagree or simply join the debate we're having.

Q: Can't we save Medicare just by cutting spending elsewhere?

A: Cutting wasteful Washington spending is essential to solving our short-run fiscal problems. But it is government spending on health care that is driving our debt crisis.

1. No.
The US spends far less on social spending than any other developed nation. What's driving the deficit is spending on the military, privatization, and lack of any kind of jobs strategy.

2. He's taking the money spent on medicare and giving Tax Cuts to Oil Companies.
It is a bit of a shell game.

3. Whether or not he wrote it, it was published under his name: so it's clearly a lie.
And the evidence is right in the bill -- more shifting of resources to the rich, this time from the aged.

4. Answer: The "R" after his name, "U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.)" means he is lying.
Hope that helps. ;)

6. "Paul Ryan wrote..." establishes the complete absence of veracity.
