(THIS IS GENERAL DISCUSSION AND THIS IS MY OPINION)

Some have accused the US of assassinating a "Holy Warrior". Some are calling for the overthrow of the Pakistani government for letting this happen.

They thought Osama was invincible. He was a hero to many in the Arab world. After all, he was the only Arab to ever plan such a grand attack on the evil Satan, America.

Pakistan is especially fragile today. Someone, perhaps many, had to know that Osama was in Pakistan and they protected him from American troops. But, this time, America did not inform them or give them billions of dollars to continue their deceitful and lying ways. America went in alone and took care of the "holy warrior" and proceeded to bury his body in the sea. There will be no holy place in any Arab country to worship him. This is severely disappointing to many of Osama's suppporters.

The people in Pakistan will turn upon their leaders. This event will destabilize that country in many ways. They are no ally to America. They should not be trusted. They have proved where their loyalties lie.

These are dangerous and treacherous times in which we now live. Osama bin Laden is dead. But his anger lives on.

Probably CNN or MSNBC or C-SPAN? Someone was very angry with the Pakistani government for letting it happen on Pakistan soil. Hamas called him a "holy warrior". Sometimes you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

20. How in shock? I'd be surprised if outside the US and Pakistan

and maybe Afghanistan, this is much of a deal. Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Libya, Syria, Palestine all have more immediate concerns. Even in Saudi and Jordon, there is a lot going on.

Who is this "they" you are thinking of? Did you read or see something that led you to this conclusion?

In Saudi Arabia:

Reaction has been muted to the killing of the Saudi-born bin Laden. The Saudi Press Agency carried a bland statement expressing hope that it would be a "step that supports the international efforts against terrorism."

27. My small piece of the Arab world is not in shock

Most are feeling like most of the folks here at DU... they hope this will help to finally bring peace. Keep in mind I live and work in a community that has something like 72 different nationalities none of which accounts for more than 25% of the population. This includes Arabs (all sorts), Indians, and Pakistanis.
