Muslims can have up to four if they can provide for them. But there's also fairly loose divorce laws, by 13th century standards. Given his lifestyle for the last ten years, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of his wives opted out for a better provider.

Not to nitpick, but this woman was a deluded enabler, not a victim. It's a real "spice power" moment, if somewhat misguided. Even as Osama insisted that women should be shy, subservient, and trapped indoors for their whole lives, this women picked up a gun and took action to save her (admittedly sick and evil) family.

White House (via Chuck Todd) corrects Brennan. The woman killed was not the wife of bin Laden but, instead, the wife of another member of the target group.

My apologies. One of bin Laden's wives was there and injured but not killed. As for the human shield account, those informing the press about it have not changed that description of the deceased woman's role.
