John Kerry is too classy to say “I told you so” about the killing of bin-Laden but I’ll do it for him.
Here’s what Kerry said during the first Presidential debate with Bush.
Saddam Hussein didn’t attack us. Osama bin Laden attacked us. Al Qaida attacked us. And when we had Osama bin Laden cornered in the mountains of Tora Bora, 1,000 of his cohorts with him in those mountains. With the American military forces nearby and in the field, we didn’t use the best trained troops in the world to go kill the world’s number one criminal and terrorist.
They outsourced the job to Afghan warlords, who only a week earlier had been on the other side fighting against us, neither of whom trusted each other.
That’s the enemy that attacked us. That’s the enemy that was allowed to walk out of those mountains. That’s the enemy that is now in 60 countries, with stronger recruits.
Bin-Laden was captured because Obama put the focus back on who actually attacked us and sent US troops into Pakistan instead of outsourcing the job. In other words, Obama followed Kerry’s advice and did the exact opposite of Bush.
I wouldn’t normally rub it in like this, but it’s time to give a reality check to the conservative assclowns claiming that Bush deserves any form of credit or that Obama was merely continuing Bush’s policies. Bullshit. If Kerry had won that election we probably would have captured Bin-Laden years ago.
“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.” – G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
