ALJAZEERA: Zeroing in on bin Laden
Years of investigation and months of planning culminated in a 40-minute raid that finally killed al-Qaeda leader.

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed in a 40-minute raid that followed months of planning and years of investigation, US officials said on Sunday.
Bin Laden went into hiding shortly after the September 11 attacks, so his communications with the outside world were handled by trusted couriers. US spies have been monitoring many of those couriers for years, the CIA said on Sunday.

“One courier in particular had our constant attention,” a senior administration official said. “We identified him as both a protege of Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Faraj al-Libi.”

2. I actually find this story to be ridiculous
So, we are supposed to believe that the torture of Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and the other guy yielded THE KEY BIT of info about some "couriers" that we FINALLY tracked to Bin Laden. Seriously? How could you call these guys "couriers" if they only went to see Osama after YEARS of him being in hiding? One would think that a "courier" would actually carry shit on a regular basis. Why did it take so long? I am not buying this part of the story.
