OUR President met a goal that was set by the majority of Americans.
It was an unmet goal that he inherited from a previous administration, and he met it. More importantly, though, is the fact that many HERE were also interested in seeing this goal met. How many times did posters here criticize the Iraq war by asking "Where is Osama?" or saying "Osama had nothing to do with Iraq" and so on.

We have a victory here people, and it's a big one, and GD has bifurcated once again because too many people have a penchant for hyperbole. I'm going to say this once:

There is a world of difference between recognizing and celebrating a victory, and reveling in the death of another human being. We can call this a win and be glad that our President has had some success, and that doesn't make us heartless bastards who dance on graves.

Why can't we be good and graceful winners?

2. Asking "Where is Osama?" does not constitute a reasoned debate.
As a nation, we never had that. Our dictators decided they would make such an important decision in secret without our even knowing it had been made an actual policy.

3. I disagree that Obama inheritied that goal from Bush.
When Bush closed the CIA operation charged with getting bin Laden, it stopped being his goal.

4. It was the goal of the American people en masse, whether Bush recognized it or not.
