Compound in Pakistan was once a safe house

Dubai: The compound in Abbottabad where Osama Bin Laden was killed was once used as a safe house by Pakistan's premier intelligence agency ISI, Gulf News has learnt.

"This area had been used as ISI's safe house, but it was not under their use any more because they keep on changing their locations," a senior intelligence official confided to Gulf News. However, he did not reveal when and for how long it was used by the ISI operatives. Another official cautiously said "it may not be the same house but the same compound or area used by the ISI".

The official also confirmed that the house was rented out by Afghan nationals and is not owned by the government. The house is located just 800 metres away from the Pakistan Military Academy and some former senior military officials live nearby.

This entire thing stinks to high heaven.

It's no surprise that the ISI had/has very close links with the Taliban and AQ...in fact the Taliban was created by the ISI.
The mere fact that President Obama chose not to let Pakistan know about the impending raid till the operation was almost concluded is clear evidence that he did not trust the ISI/Military to leak the info the Osama. He had good reason not to..in two previous occasions Osama escaped capture in the nick of time because the ISI let them know of impending American raid on his location

(In fact, the former head of the ISI, Gen Hamid Gul openly claimed that he warned Osama about an impending US strike on his location during President Clinton's term)

Furthermore Osama's mansion is less than 1km from Pakistan's equivalent of the West Point....and its surrounded by houses/mansions owned by Pakistan's highest ranking generals. Its impossible to enter or leave this cantonment/garrison town without being checked by the military at the checkpoints(After all, its "the" highest security area in that region of Pakistan). It beggars belief that no one was aware of Osama living in that place all this time...if one were to believe Pakistani version of events.

(Imagine Russians conducting a raid on West Point in the early 50s and finding Hitler living in a mansion amongst other American generals? they sure as hell would be pissed wouldn't they? :P )

imho the ISI was aiding and abetting Osama to serve a twofold purpose.1# to use the bogeyman of Osama as a cash cow to generate Billions of$ worth of funding from the US in order to supports Pakistan's war against terror efforts.(which would be diverted tofund their military and insurgent operations) 2# to bog America down in AfPak and indirectly serve the purpose of the Taliban and AQ..not to mention Pakistan's new BFF's..China.


PS: I was thoroughly surprised to hear that Osama was found living within the heart of Pakistan's Military/Intel conglomerate.

They also showed some interesting footage taken a while back that shows what appears to be a Pakistani soldier guarding the compound.

10. Why assume Musharraf knew about it?

Certainly someone in Pakistani intelligence had to be helping Bin Laden, but it's a fallacy to assume that every part of the Pakistani government operates as a single coherent entity. Hell, our government can't come close to that, and we don't have nearly the internal factional stresses that the Pakistanis do.

Assumptions and preconceptions in this sort of situation can interfere with later deduction. Evidence is everything.

one of them supposedly made the comment "cautiously".

When they say "it may have been a ISI safe-house cos they used to have it in the compound"..its pretty much sounds like plausible deniability.


furthermore I really dont think that a whole bunch of generals and Military head honcho's will not be curious about the huge mansion being built splat in the middle of their version of Beverly hills....not to mention the daily trash burning ritual the newcomers had.lol
They must have known. Unlike here in the US where one can go without knowing one's neighbor..in the subcontinent one knows almost everything about his/her neighbor.
