I just realized that today at work, not ONE person was talking about this
bin Laden, that is. Nobody. Not one.

What does that mean? I'm taking it as a good sign.

2. No, definitely not so.
I'm pretty sure it's nearly totally progressives, which is sort of why I found it interesting that nobody was talking about it.

3. Tired of war.
Edited on Mon May-02-11 10:48 PM by dairydog91
We've spent trillions of dollars because 1 man sponsored a dozen or so loons with box-cutters. That gets tiring. And the US doesn't have the trillions to spend.

5. That's exactly how I feel, too. I've gotten pretty tired of this warring. I'm happy OBL got caught
but I'm not so happy about the price tag. Too much blood. Too much death. Too much despair.

The ONLY thing I'm happy about regarding this, is that it will hopefully sweep the Democrats - REAL Democrats - back into power. Hopefully, this will give President Obama the leverage to have a say so which Democrats he would like. You know? Democrats who not only campaign as Democrats, but once elected, also vote like Democrats.

Then, maybe, we can get that single-payer through, and stop these effing wars already.

Just my opinion.

6. Not surprising.
Humans are a self-centered bunch. People spend a LOT of time wondering about/worrying about what others think of them ..truth be told, most people don't think about others all that much..

Many people pretend to listen to what others are saying, but in reality they are composing what pithy words of wisdom THEY will be dropping into the conversation.

Also, many people are not at home when news is on tv, and have gone to bed before the local news comes on.. Many people only care about sports & weather, and tune the rest out anyway.. Most people probably don't even read a newspaper anymore.

I'm sure people heard about it on the radio on their way to work, but maybe chose to not talk about it at work. Workplaces are not that "chatty" these days.

and probably a lot of people are not that interested in the "terra-wars" anymore..

7. no one in my office either.
I suspect it's too hot of a subject to get into at work... you know, the "don't talk about religion or politics at work" thing.

9. I didn't get that feeling
People there are not shy about expressing political opinions. Just by looking at the bumper stickers on cars in the parking lot, I've never seen one conservative one, ever. I've seen plenty of Obama and other progressive ones, though.

It was weird. I didn't notice it when I was there today, only now when I'm thinking back on the day. Maybe we were just all busy.

People are happy that Osama's dead and gave credit to Pres. Obama. FYI, I live among Democrats in a Democratic state.

First thing out of my mouth was, "good, that guy was an asshole". Other that, it's about nine and half years late.

NOW CAN WE GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE ENTIRE REGION.

11. nobody around me today was talking about it either
None of the neighbors or family or friends or out and about in public all afternoon. Nobody seemed to care. Can't say I really do either. It doesn't change anything, and it feels far too much like too little too late.

12. We were all too busy for much talk.
I brought it up after first shift went home and we had a beak for a minute and there was a small discussion, then the phones started ringing again.

15. Not one person at my work either, but they're a bunch of wingers. I made
sure I mentioned that I was glad he was dead, and maybe NOW we could get the hell out of the ME. I was greeted with silence. So, of course, if "their guy" didn't do it and a Dem did, they do their level best to forget it happened.
