Osama bin Laden corpse photo is fake-The Guardian-GRAPHIC IMAGE
Edited on Tue May-03-11 04:05 AM by Ichingcarpenter
Image of bloodied man picked up by British newspapers has been circulating online for two years

An image apparently showing a dead Osama bin Laden broadcast on Pakistani television and picked up by British newspaper websites is a fake.

The bloodied image of a man with matted hair and a blank, half-opened eye has been circulating on the internet for the past two years. It was used on the front pages of the Mail, Times, Telegraph, Sun and Mirror websites, though swiftly removed after the fake was exposed on Twitter.

It appears the fake picture was initially published by the Middle East online newspaper themedialine.org on 29 April 2009, with a warning from the editor that it was "unable to ascertain whether the photo is genuine or not".

5. Middle panel doesn't look like the same person
as the other two. And the right one looks like a PS version of the first one. Nice job, but still.

7. 3rd photo
Edited on Tue May-03-11 04:22 AM by MyrnaLoy
is a photo shopped copy of the first. You could actually overlay them and they would fit. Look at the angle of the head and the mouth. Even the facial lines match. Also the only thing relevant about the middle is the background and wounds. They were used for the third photos, the wounds match perfectly.

10. I like the third photo, A LOT.
He's dead, and that's what matters.

11. your title is misleading
you mean that a 2 year old picture that is supposed to be of a dead OBL is a fake.

Not that any new photo released to prove what happened Sunday is a fake.

I don't understand the purpose of this. It seems obvious that the 2 year old photo is fake. Why post it here with a misleading thread title?
