3. There is no comparison between those two...
Comparing Osama to Adolf is like comparing Mighty Mouse to Superman.

4. *sigh*
No, it isn't a direct correlation. Would Pol Pot have been better for you? I think there is enough of a link to put the 2 together. Each to his own.....

5. A teenage friend of mine pointed out to me the absurdity of the expression "There is no comparison"
Edited on Tue May-03-11 05:39 AM by slackmaster
There is always a possible comparison between any two things.

Superman was larger than Mighty Mouse. Superman on TV had an introductory monologue. Mighty Mouse had a theme song.

Osama bin Laden was a tyrant, but he wasn't nearly as good at it as Hitler was. Hitler's actions led to the deaths of tens of millions of people. OBL maybe a few hundred thousand, counting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc. Hitler was a far more engaging public speaker. Hitler liked dogs, OBL regarded them as filthy animals.

6. It was George W. Bush who magnified a terrorist attack into two wars...
and is responsible for over a million deaths. In that sense Bush is more equal to Hitler than OBL.

I do apologize for using a colloquialism that ruffled the feathers of your pedantry.

8. Pedantry:
Edited on Tue May-03-11 07:09 AM by Are_grits_groceries
the display of useless knowledge or minute observance of rules or details.

Bless your heart! Actually, you are much more guilty of pedantry than I am. I now will leave the field of argument to you and your dictionary.

Edited on Tue May-03-11 08:11 AM by slackmaster
The hornets are just dumb animals doing what anyone with any sense could have predicted.

What the blue fuck did bin Laden think Bush was going to do? Serious question!

11. Exactly what he did...lash out in an ineffective way...
rather than going after bin Laden. As Thom Hartmann was saying yesterday, keeping bin Laden out there as a boogie man was perfect to make Bush a "war president" because he saw it as the key to keeping the White House. Up until 9/11, Bush was perceived as a Sad Sack who had been appointed by the SCOTUS. OBL got his Jihad and Bush got his wars. Perfect for each other.-------------------------------

10. When that man is dead and gone...
WHEN THAT MAN IS DEAD AND GONE
(Irving Berlin)
Al Bowlly - 1941

When that man is dead and gone
When that man is dead and gone
We値l go dancing down the street
Kissing everyone we meet
When that man is dead and gone

What a day to wake up on
What a way to greet the dawn
Some fine day the news値l flash
Satan with a small moustache
Is asleep beneath the lawn
When that man is dead and gone

Satan, Satan, thought up a plan
Dressed as a man
Walking the earth and since he began
The world is hell for you and me
But what a heaven it will be

When that man is dead and gone
When that man is dead and gone
When they lay him twelve feet deep
I値l be there to laugh, not weep
When that man is dead and gone

What a day to wake up on
What a way to greet the dawn
Satan値l take him by the hand
To meet old Gerring, look what, man
When that man is dead and gone
When that man is dead and gone

Some fine day the news値l flash
Satan with a small moustache
Is asleep beneath the lawn
When that man is dead and gone

What a day to wake up on
What a way to greet the dawn
When a certain man is dead and gone

Oh yeah, history was rewritten so we'd forget about that shit.

18. So?
It is hardly as if you need nukes to blast cities off the map. Burnt rubble piles across Europe and Asia proved that.

22. History was rewritten? Are you claiming it wasn't Truman?

Because all the history I've ever seen on the subject says Truman made that call.
