NorCal man admits shipping self 82 pounds of pot

SOUTH ELGIN, IL (AP) -- A California man has admitted shipping himself 82 pounds of marijuana.

Walter Kwiatek, 50, of Cloverdale, pleaded guilty Monday to possession of more than 5,000 grams of marijuana.

His sentencing is scheduled for July 18.

Police in South Elgin got a tip in December about a suspicious container shipped to a freight and delivery company in Illinois.
...

Kwiatek has no criminal history and is a U.S. Navy veteran. He could get up to 30 years in prison.

2. The irony of someone shipping marijuana TO Northern California is hysterical.
Like shipping ice to the South Pole.
