Mudflats: Palin Thanks (almost) Everyone for Bin Laden’s Capture.
I listened with the rest of the nation last night as the news leaked about the death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of U.S. forces on the ground in Pakistan. And I listened to the President deliver (as usual) a thoughtful, respectful, address to the nation.

And then, I wondered, what would critics of the president say? What would they say about the fact that Barack Obama as Commander-in-Chief did in two years what George W. Bush as Commander-in-Chief couldn’t do in eight?

The last words in the President’s speech urged us to remember the unity we felt as a nation on 9/11, and to feel that again for a moment, as we remember the victims and know that justice in some form has been served. Is it possible, I thought, that we’d have one of those moments? Is it conceivable that just like on 9/11, Americans from all points on the political spectrum would come together to reflect, and support the President as Commander-in-Chief? Just for a minute?

Riiiiiight.

Let’s check out Sarah Palin’s Facebook entry from last night. She proves once again that no response to current events, no matter how historic, can be too petty or small. You’ve got to hand it to her, really. Her predictable reactions are almost becoming comforting – like watching the sun rise and set – if the sun was a spiteful passive-aggressive middle school girl.

4. That's the point...

...why is it news when a grown adult plays middle-school games?

Seriously. I am so tired of her drama that is full of non-news.

She does this on purpose. She has nothing intelligent to say, so she
says something mean and spiteful--to garner attention.

I'm the mother of two tweens, and we have a chuckle or two about the
girls like this--who ALWAYS have to be the center of attention and never
miss a chance to call names and play passive aggressive when someone gets
in their way.

Notice I said that we "chuckle" about girls like this. We don't hang on their
every word and assign to them more importance than they deserve.

It's embarrassing to see a grown adult behave like an extreme pre-teen.

It's shameful that our media spotlights here, because of how it makes
our country look--as idiotic as she is.

2. Exactly...reason# 4,546,927 why Palin will never be POTUS.
At least Obama tries to be inclusive in his rhetoric...you won't catch Sarah or any other small minded Republican understanding that you are President of 100% of America...not just the 50% or so that vote for you.

3. Palin can not get anymore irrelevant than this
latest pettiness and comical attempt to try to be taken as someone important. It's pitiful.

5. Has she lost a lot of weight lately?
I caught a glimpse of her on tv - forgot where - and she looked so skinny in the face. She reminded me of those plastic surgery creatures from the Real Housewives of Orange County - maybe they are going to make one for Alaska and she is cultivating the "look".

8. unrecc'd cuz she's NOTHING but a waste of time...
...and real estate on DU's home page. She doesn't deserve even one pixel. Let's all vow to not even type her name online anymore. Don't want to inflate her place in the cloud.
