I tend to agree with the OP but would be willing to have a viewing of the pics by world leaders to verify. There is no way to prevent the MSM and cable news shows from displaying any pics - if they were only placed on YouTube or the internet. They would be picked up and shown all over. We're into the 3rd day of all OBL 24/7 now and any released pics would take it in to next week.

I still say the Donald Trump dodged a bullet because of OBL. If the Sunday mission didn't happen - we'd be watching the clips from the WHCD of Obama and Meyers humiliating the Donald. Trump should actually thank Obama for changing the subject.

Then, perhaps consider organizing an influential group of US-based Muslim religious leaders/clerics, (perhaps along with a few ecumenical religious leaders) to view not only the photos, but the video of the burial at sea to affirm that the body was not desecrated and handled (at least generally) within the tenets of Islam. Whatever prohibitions they allegedly felt about the backlash abroad with the detainee torture photos were in a different time and place in their political calculations. There are calculations here, too-- to appease an American public and 2012 electorate. Torture photos at American hands OTOH-- and reminders of the crimes that have gone unprosecuted under both past and present administrations- would do nothing to enhance Democrats' self image any more than it would Republicans'.
