I would not have wanted to make the decision.

To bring Osama Bin Laden back to stand trial or to assassinate him? To murder him on site, in other words.

This is a decision the President has to make. He has to weigh all the options and choose one.

If they bring Osama back, all hell would break loose. Not just in the Arab world but in this country also. Some would be screaming for revenge for capturing their "holy leader" and some would be screaming to have him executed. It was a lose-lose proposition.

What would you have done?

Personally, I would not want the blood on my hands or my conscience. So it is good I am not the President. The President must think in different terms. It is not an individual moral issue. It is what is best for the nation and future relationships.

In my opinion, this was a kill mission. They had no intent on bringing Bin Laden back alive. If they ascertained it was indeed Bin Laden, then they were to kill him on the spot. I think that was the decision that was made.

That may sound immoral, wrong, evil, or whatever. But somebody had to make the decision.

3. I think he made the cold-blooded decision to kill him...
on the spot. No trials, no juries, no lawyers, no questions.

6. No trials, no juries, no lawyers, no questions. No ANSWERS. No accounting for how the USA TRAINED
and equipped him. No evidence of the corruption of our government in the service of

$$$$$$$$$$

2. I'm going to say that the mission was to try and capture him
but the Seals had permission to use deadly force if necessary and when you get into that situation you just react. I'm guess that is what happened here.

4. It sucked the world has come to this, but....
They went in there not knowing what to expect, so being trigger happy could factor into the result, sure, but these are professionals and I'll leave the actual CALL on it to them, as I believe the President did.

5. He made the right decision.
Osama is not a citizen accused of a crime that he may or may not have committed. He's a fing terrorist mass murderer who started a war with us and you don't need a trial to tell you that. And may I add, he didn't ask for an fing trial.

7. A lot of people here revel in 2nd guessing whether or not Bin Laden should have been killed or not
It's a lovely game we play, isn't it? So full of form and color...

Personally, I'm glad that the fucker is dead.

I can't see any point in second guessing Obama's correct decision.
