‘Morning Joe’ on CBS? CBS courting Scarborough & cohorts?

Mediaite’s Colby Hall reports that CBS News is “close” to a deal with “Morning Joe” executive producer Chris Licht, adding that the goal is to woo hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough to the network when their contracts expire “within the year.”

TVNewser has heard the Licht rumblings as well, but the likelihood that Joe and Mika would make the jump to CBS does raise some red flags.

The first is mentioned by Hall, who notes that “Morning Joe” is kind of a wonky program, and may not translate to a broadcast network. “They would probably have to change the show significantly from its primarily insider political buzz to appeal to a broader audience,” Hall wrote.

and he originally came from FOX, so they may have seen him as a "climber"..always looking for a better deal.. and I think he went further than looking.. I think he made a pilot for them/with them..

17. Joe Scarborough is the only REASONABLE conservative on TV. I like his show even tho I disagree

with him (but I disagree with him HALF as much as the ghoulish, war-mongering Brian Williams, Tom Brokaw, Chris et al. who preempt MSNBC with NBC Nightly Propaganda for the Great Unwashed.)

Plus, their show is far more fucking intelligent than some of Brian Williams and co's shit, much less Today show garbage, and by "wonky" they mean "insider dialogue by media elites and political buffs who like to jaw about stuff they wouldn't be allowed to talk about on network TV because the hoi polloi aren't listening."

Most of the time, he just parrots whatever someone smarter (almost everyone) said - and repeats it so pompously, you get the idea he really thinks he's the one who made the original comments. Mika is a back-pedaling, wishy washy mess. She'll make a valid point - and then get all girlie and take back what she said. Plus, she does this creepy Mommy thing - refers to herself in the third person as "Mommy" when talking to the men. Eeewwww. (and she had a real girl crush on Sarah Palin. )
