That's one very good reason not to use that method or any other forms of torture. Besides any moral or legal points.
Information gained via torture isn't reliable.

To extract false confessions supporting false premises. Bush and company needed confessions tying Bin Laden to Iraq. They killed human beings to get them to give forth information to support this. They are war criminals.

And yes the information gained is not all reliable. But some of it may have been. Any information by any method has to be checked out by various means. If water boarding lead to info which led to the death of OBL so be it. I am not going to get upset about it.
