Finally, something very smart in South Carolina: a dog named Chaser.
Meet Chaser: The incredible border collie who has learned the names for 1022 toys

Chaser the border collie knows over 1,000 words - more than any other animal

Chaser, pictured here on top of the pile of toys, has had intensive training to learn every one of their names

I read a story about chaser in this morning's Greenville News, which I can't link. It was actually on the front page (which is normally reserved for the hapless Tigers and Cocks (Clemson and U of SC)). But I Googled and found this Daily Mail article (and others).

What a great story! Let's run this dog for Lindsey Graham's seat. On second thought, no. She deserves much better than the US Senate.

2. That's about $15,000 worth of dog toys.
I thought I was indulgent - fortunately, my dog isn't nearly that smart. We love her, anyway.

7. To Nick, "toy" and "ball" are interchangeable.
All balls are toys and all toys are balls. Likewise, all small critters are squirrels and most large critters are bears.

3. I found it interesting that the dog remembered the toys, but the man required a list...
of toys behind the screen. Tells you something.

6. We have a border collie. The things are fucking smart. You can't even spell around her.
I've always been amazed at the ability of some animals to learn to comprehend human language. Of course, some dogs never get past the word "walk".
