But, in the end, they will accomplish nothing except more destruction. It was a sad and tragic day when the people voted them into the majority in the House. They do not look for solutions. They look for ways to destroy government. That is their calling card.

Re: Your list does include some of the decision makers. But, behind the scenes, big money cares only about making money and if they think Obama will corporate, they will shield him just as they did

If he continues this path of compromise, the Republicans might not be so adamant about kicking him out of office.

that if elected President, he was going to try to do something about the Corporate political influence in the media, he found himself out of the running due to a torrent of bad publicity about the so-called "Dean scream".

As the "scream" was shown on the news 100's of times per day, Dean appeared to be screaming for no apparent reason that they were going to win in various cities. There were almost no other sounds on the tape. However, the truth was that there were 100's of people at the pep rally who were very boisterous. Dean was speaking at an appropriate level under those circumstances. But, his mike was a short range type, designed to pick up only his voice.

Later some of the networks admitted that Dean's presentation had been unrealistic.

My theory is that the media decided to "out" him as soon as he said that he intended to regulate them if elected.

these people get used and kicked in the face all of the time and they go back and vote again for the Republicans. What is it they don't get ... can they really be that F'en stupid. I'm in the middle of watching Harlan County, USA and what keeps coming to my mind is I don't see any sticking up for their rights today. Instead, they do the bidding of the greedy while somehow thinking they are standing up for rights. It's like a perpetual Twilight Zone episode, and I keep wondering when Americans are going to wake up to what is going on. Here, they have voted in some of the worst critters known to mankind. These people have no interest whatsoever in helping most people. They have voted against every initiative that would help people, yet they keep voting them in ... the stupid here is incredible.

For those of us with memories longer than the last news cycle, you may remember all the squawking and caterwauling the Republicans did from 2001 to 2006. The Democrats and folks like us kept noticing that everything King Merdas, George W. Bush, touched turned to shit. By noticing these failures, Republicans continually yammered that we were "rooting for America to fail." As usual, Republicans blamed the opposition for doing what they themselves were doing or would be doing. And sure enough, just a few years later, they're counting on taking advantage of the collapse of the country to pave the way for their electoral success.

The depressing thing will be to see just how many Democrats join the Republicans in greasing our country's skids.
