Deputy suspended over Obama "prayer"
MANATEE COUNTY - The Sheriff’s Office recently suspended a sergeant at the county jail for 26 hours without pay for labeling a scripture passage on a co-worker’s desk with a message about President Obama that she considered threatening.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Matthew Neu attached a handwritten note to a co-worker’s jail-issued book of passages from the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs.

The note stated “The Obama Prayer,” and with a highlighter pen, Neu reportedly circled a verse in Psalm 109 that read: “Let his days be few, and let another take his office.”

13. If he hadn't written what he did there would be no reason for the complaint
This is a conversation I have had way too many times with 3rd graders wanting to blame someone else when they screw up.

16. that's an odd conversation though
clearly if he had not stolen my lunch, then I would not have stabbed him in the eye with my fork. Is the stabbing then nobody's fault but the thief's own? Or is it possible that sometimes people over-react? And sometimes even people in authority make stupid decisions?

Back when Bush was President, I sent a message to a family history discussion board. The email about a distant relative who had been in politics also included my signature line at the time, which was -

'"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking of ways to harm our country and its people and neither do we." George W. Bush, telling the truth for once by accident.'

Somebody on the list sent a message saying that my message was political and that I should be reprimanded. I ignored that message, and no action was ever taken, except the action of sending his complaint to a moderated list.

Anybody find this part troubling? WTF is a jail, funded by the taxpayers, doing issuing religious texts? What happened to separation of church and state??
