1. MIchelle Bachman
Before she decides to run for the Senate or President or head of the IMF or something where she can do REAL damage.

9. Yeah, but she might try...
...and that will influence national politics regardless of her chance of success.

Of course, her district might evaporate after re-districting, so hey, we have that goings for us. :-)

5. hasn't most of Myrick's district been republican
Edited on Mon May-16-11 09:11 PM by AlanCranston
for like 60 years? Its one of the most ancestrally republican areas of the south except for eastern Tennessee.

10. Myrick is well known in the community. It has nothing to do with her politics
as most wouldn't have the slightest idea what she supports. But they know her, or know of her, and so they vote for her. The area itself is largely Republican, but not in a substantive way. It's more of a "my daddy was a Republican and so I'm a Republican" type of deal. Ask them which Republican they like or one that closely represents their personal political views, and generally they are hard pressed to even think of one.

6. Is Joe Sestak considering a run against Meehan?
The district voted for him for Senate and Onorato for Governor, yet split the ticket for a Republican for the House.
It's an odd split. Sestak seems to be popular in this area.

8. Illinois 14, Randy Hultgren
He got swept in last fall defeating one termer Democrat Bill Foster but this district is slowly becoming lighter shades of blue and if Obama kicks 2012 ass in Illinois this Tea Party Republican could be vulnerable. The problem will be finding a good candidate to challenge him.

15. Lungren's district is more republican than you would think
it has a PVI of R+6, the same as the 48th district. Obama did better than your average generic democrat. It includes a lot of stereotypical suburban voters who crossed over to vote for Obama because they were unhappy with McCain and the Bush administration.

The teabagger who defeated my congressman in November. His core constituency seems to have been senior citizens against health care reform. :grr:
