Cornel West and Cynthia Mckinney for the Green Party Presidential nomination in 2012?
From Green Party Watch

Cornel West and Cynthia Mckinney for the Green Party Presidential nomination in 2012?

Cornel West: ‘We’ve got to think seriously of third-party candidates, third formations, third parties’

From Chris Hedges’ column this week at Truthdig:

“We have got to attempt to tell the truth, and that truth is painful,” says. “It is a truth that is against the thick lies of the mainstream. In telling that truth we become so maladjusted to the prevailing injustice that the Democratic Party, more and more, is not just milquetoast and spineless, as it was before, but thoroughly complicitous with some of the worst things in the American empire. I don’t think in good conscience I could tell anybody to vote for Obama. If it turns out in the end that we have a crypto-fascist movement and the only thing standing between us and fascism is Barack Obama, then we have to put our foot on the brake. But we’ve got to think seriously of third-party candidates, third formations, third parties.”

9. A
comment is a response. A question is a response.

I should have asked: No response?

Then we could play a different game based on that.

13. A comment is usually defined as
a remark, observation, or criticism. When I post, I let it sink or swim such as this example:

14. Hmmmm?
"A comment is usually defined as a remark, observation..."

Isn't that link blue?

Is that an observation, question or both?

16. It can be both but my question was directed at your question
and not the OP.

2. I admire the Green Party. However, the people they put forward
as candidates bury their chances before they even start.

Whether it is fair or not, McKinney and West are seen as
"out there".

I agree with the basic notion of third parties. For a
Third Party to prosper, the face cannot be so out of the
mainstream that it cannot be taken seriously.

I admire the strides the Greens are making.

11. Did she ever find out who killed 5000 people, execution style, and dumped the bodies in the swamp...
in the aftermath of Katrina?

Or maybe she retracted the accusation and I missed it.

12. I respect McKinney more than I do West.
West is a do-nothing. Nothing but a talker. It would suprise me to see him on any ticket. Mckinney is a veteran compared to West.

I can't see this ticket going anywhere, not even getting publicity.

15. Going With the "If We Just Keep Throwing Crazy Out There" sooner or later it'll win tactic?
Not going to work.

American needs more political parites and I respect some of the things the green party stands for, but their candidate choices are awful.

17. Well, West has already worked on a campaign that took $ from Republicans, so this should be old hat.
Cornel West, of course, was the head of Sharpton's Exploratory Committee, and was an advisor to Al Sharpton.

Al Sharpton's campaign was funded primarily by GOP operative Roger Stone (The Village Woice exposed it.)

http://www.villagevoice.com/2004-01-27/news/sleeping-with-the-gop/1/

And the Greens are notorious for taking Republican cash--

19. The only thing standing between us and fascism is Obama, so...
we've got to help prevent his winning a second term?

That's the logic of a bitter, bitter man there.

24. West/McKinney is a tempting ticket to vote for, but my eye is on the Supreme Court.
We need a Democratic victory so we can have a Dem majority on the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has been really pissing me off lately.

Democracy is stuck in a bad bad place right now.
Sounds good all in all. West is upset with Obama and Clinton Dems too.
