Wanted: Camper for 2 - $1000
Reply to: XXXXXXXX@craigslist.org
I was planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me....but due to medical reasons i lost my job...i am now currently working several jobs trying to get on my feet...im looking for a camper that at least has a queen size bed so that myself ( and hopefully soon my girlfriend) will have a roof over our head...im looking for some thing around 1000, but if its any more i will have to make monthly payments.. you can reach me via email

Just wanted to share this ad I found a few moments ago. Hope this guy is young and resilient. People are seriously hurting and our government could not care less.

I feel sick, knowing the suffering that is only increasing in this country every single day.

I'm going to bed.

1. I just sold a camper on Craigslist for $1000. I was overwhelmed with the repliies.
Many were looking for a way to just survive. I had to pull the ad for the replies. I haven't been so stunned in years.

It ended up on an Indian reservation.

2. There is a real desperation setting in and it appears
it will not reverse for awhile.

I just don't know what they expect people to do. Most everyone I know is on food stamps, and they are working!

Oh, well, guess the fallout will cull the population in next few years.

9. One of my assistants is on food stamps. crazy someone working a full time job
would be poor enough to qualify for food stamps.

13. I have never seen so many people in need, not even this bad under raygun, imho.
I don't blame Obama for the mess, Bushco brought this on to our country, our people. And they should be given fair trials before we lock them in the Hague forever.

I am very disappointed there was so little change.

No places around here will even give you full-time work for minimum wage. There simply are no life sustaining jobs available in our small rural city at all.

The apathy is slowly disappearing, unfortunately it may be too late for easier solutions. "Call your Congress Critter right NOW!" has proven totally ineffective in the last ten years. Marches and protests mean nothing to the PTB.

I really have no answers to help, not any that the gov would ever enact. Empathy and compassion are considered weaknesses now. Being poor is so terribly expensive.

Guess we all just go on until we can't.

8. I'm moving into one my self shortly. I am not insulting camper living, just wondering how many of
us more will be in these situations due to the economy in the coming years.

6. Thank you
I spend my days on DU and applying for work. Once a week I put on my nice clothes and happy face and follow up on job applications.

I have NEVER been unemployed before.

I'm telling you ... it is brutal out there.

Some of the jobs I've applied for:

Bank Teller
Radio Shack sales person
Staples sales person
Grocery clerk
Homeless shelter monitor (I really want this one)

All Minimum wage, all part-time.

It looks like I'll never have health insurance again.

10. I am selling as I cannot afford the taxes, insurance, upkeep any longer.
I have a rental house and that is my income because I can't afford to live there. I am looking for a camper right now, house sale final in next month.

Welcome to DU, TBA! Hopefully something will give someday soon... :hi::hug:

14. This area was very depressed in the nineties, it has only gotten worse.
I am grateful knowing there are bosses out there like you, flvegan. I wish there were so many more.

Ad just broke my heart and made me smile at the same time later when I thought about it more; kicked down and still hopeful.

The bastards are NOT going to keep us down...:grr:

15. I created 2 (yes, two!) new American jobs this week.
Found a way around the machine. And it's not just me. Lots of folks out there just like me, in positions like mine. We just need to reach them, or put folks in their position.

My name carries a pile of respect in this industry, and it shouldn't come down to that.
