A Transportation Security Administration officer was arrested Monday night at Orlando International Airport after he allegedly tried to bring a gun through a security checkpoint.
Rynel B. Delacruz, 25, faces an aviation personal conduct charge. He was released Tuesday after posting $250 bail.
According to police reports, Delacruz placed a piece of luggage on an x-ray machine at a checkpoint shortly after 10 p.m. Monday. The screener noticed the gun in the bag and contacted supervisors, and Orlando police were called.
The responding officer reported finding a fully loaded Ruger .380 handgun. Delacruz said he had forgotten the gun was in his luggage, according to the police report.
