What a long strange trip it's been.
I'll be an empty nester within weeks...

4. Are they actually leaving that soon?
One good thing about emails, cell phones, etc. -- kids stay much more in touch than in the "olden days."

5. Hurrah for them! You've helped them get to a major life event.
Congratulations on a job well done! Now, they move into adulthood...slowly...but surely. They'll always be your children, though. Just keep supporting them, through good decisions and bad ones, and they'll probably eventually repeat what you did and do it just as well.

7. Congratulations to all of you.

When my youngest got there, I went out and got a dog because I knew I was going to suck at empty nesting. Worked pretty well. lol

I hope you all enjoy this, panader0.

10. Congrats
They'll be back with grandchildren in a few years...if you're lucky. If not they'll return after college and make you believe you're overstaying your welcome in your own home. :D

11. Congrats! Our oldest son graduates in another week.
We won't be empty nesters for awhile, however (2 middle schoolers left).

12. Hey buddy....you have one of those sweet but bitter months ahead of you!
Share your experience with us. Maybe it will help you get it out and it will give us some understanding. Maybe you can help teach us how to help our friends as their kids leave the nest. (most of my good friends are going through that right now!)

Good luck, hope the ceremony was good!
