3. He did this on his radio show. and MSNBC suspends him.
Do not be surprised if MSNBC becomes another Fox "News" Channel.

7. I've considered changing to Dish or Satelite TV too, but everyone I've met
who has either of those providers tell me that every time it rains, their cable goes out. Sorry, but I'm not willing to put up with that! I'll just keep hounding Charter until they provide Current TV.

11. It pretty much has to rain torrents for mine to go out
More than 95% of storms don't bother it in the least. YMMV however. I've been told it depends on how well positioned your satellite is and if you have any obstructions that may droop into the way when it rains as to if regular rains will disrupt your service. Simple rain storms (lightening and normal rain) don't bother mine which has a clear view and no obstructions.

However if it's going to be a really ugly storm with extremely heavy rain it will go out over the worst of the storm. An example being if the satellite is showing pink I know mine will go out during the time that part of the cell passes over me. If it's red or below I'm fine. I've no idea if that helps or not, but it's the best description I've got.

12. would it be ok with you if he used a racist slur?
How about an ageist slur? Or a sexual orientation slur? Or a physical appearance slur? Is there some reason why you believe that gender bias slurs are petty when none of these or other broadbrush group slurs are?

14. It's only ok if it's a sexist slur. Those other things you mentioned are unacceptable. nt

15. Why use a slur? Insults can be delivered without using vulgar language
Here is a list of particularly literate insults: http://www.benbassandbeyond.com/2008/07/when-insults-were-literate.html
