" New York State Senator Martin J. Golden has defecated on the dignity of his office and delivered a stinging slap of wholly unwarranted abuse to the faces of his constituents by falsely alleging to the New York Post that his constituents “don’t really give a rat’s ass about social issues.”



All decent human beings resident in New York are dismayed that Senator Golden, in addition to defecating on the dignity of his office, is violating his Oath of Office, through which he is sworn to support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the State of New York. The Constitution of the State of New York says that discrimination in civil rights is prohibited. Yet this exceedingly vulgar “rat’s ass” Senator Golden has introduced legislation that would rescind New York State’s recognition of same-sex marriages legally entered into elsewhere. Mayor Bloomberg, to his credit, has dismissed Golden’s proposed legislation both by opposing it on civil rights grounds and by verifying that it has no chance of passage. The hypocrisy of introducing hateful social issues legislation while falsely alleging that one’s constituents do not care about social legislation is self-evident. Rat’s Ass Golden is embarrassing himself while failing his constituents and the dignity of his office.



Voting against LGBT rights is akin to a hate crime. Introducing legislation to take away rights currently granted to one’s gay fellow citizens is comparable to an aggravated hate crime. It truly gives us all pause to know that the face of the Republican Party in New York State has turned out to be a rat’s ass. Previously, we thought the Republican Party’s face in New York was that shown by the 2010 Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino, who had a penchant fore-mailing to his Republican colleagues pornographic images of a horse sexually imposing itself on a human female along with imagery and language mocking African-Americans. New Yorkers should reject Golden’s shameful language and legislation for the same reasons they rejected Pornographic Paladino; because these indecent, hateful old misogynists and bigots are not who we are.
