2. i keep thinking.... there's a long time between now and the next election.

people have short attention spans. and they will stop paying attention. there will be some new shiny thing to distract them. and the republicans will spin this and we'll be screwed.

3. I'm not sure

I don't believe the Ryan plan, as it is, is going anywhere but it's entirely possible that there could be some "grand bargain" that we're going to have to swallow- though I can't imagine how that might shape up at the moment. Republicans don't seem willing to negotiate in good faith and everything isn't being put on the table, so if some kind of "grand bargain" is struck, you can bet it won't be pleasant.

People are pissed about the Ryan plan. I know of no one that thinks it's a good idea, and I live in a conservative area. This is going to blow up in the Republican's faces.
