No matter what side of this issue you stand on. Ed could use some word of support. I was appalled at the language, but felt his apology was heartfelt and sincere. He should hear that from us.

I plan to write a short note via MSNBC. I hope you do as well.

1. I think we all support him
Just because you're upset with a friend/child/parent/relative for something stupid they said doesn't mean we toss them out for the wolves to devour.

He apologized and he was sincere about it. As a woman I feel Schultz is still one of the good ones on TV.

5. I agree
He seemed to had kicked himself pretty hard. I didn't get a chance to see the apology, found it here. It moved me. He is a passionate man, and meant no real harm. One statement doesn't make him a sexist. Just a poor choice of words. I myself, as a woman, forgive him, and ready to move on.

12. Yeah, it's a strike. He apologized in a rarely seen, meaningful way.
Symbolic punishments, like suspensions, don't mean much.

I'm not a big Ed fan, but I felt that apology.

7. His media persona is one of talking like the man on the street
Talking TO the average person instead of coming across like a smart assed college professor talking down to people.

That kind of persona tends to cross the line sometimes, but its part of what makes him so effective in promoting the Democratic message.

11. Until there is some phrase or word
that is as derogatory to da boyz as 'slut' is to us, the field isn't level. I've suggested 'short-dicked assholes' but I keep hearing, 'Now, Missy, that's just not a nice thing to say.'

Or 'Wandering wee wee' as Taibbi called them.

Looks to me like he has it in hand.
Maybe a little encouragement, but no real need for support.

18. Not an Ed fan.
I'm not an Ed fan. However, I made sure to catch his apology live. It's the first believable and appropriate apology I've heard from a public figure in a long time. That clip should be used in training folks in what an apology is supposed to sound like.

I'm on your side in this, Ed.
