No, she's not running
This article points out a few good reasons that, despite everyone's fear or elation that Scara might make a lunge for the White House, the odds of her actually doing so just don't add up.

Sorry, Tina Fey fans.

To sum up the key points:

-First, she has always made virtually every major decision herself or with the advice of her husband, the Toddster. That is simply not possible given the dynamics of a presidential race.

-Second, it doesn't appear she has contacted any major donors, anyone in the RNC, or any current or former governors about working for her campaign.

-Third, it would cost her money. -"she'd be abandoning a lucrative career of books, six-figure speeches and a contract with Fox News. (Fox, by the way, said yesterday that the network was "not changing Sarah Palin's status” even as she begins her bus tour)."

There is also her lack of popularity among a sizable number of repub voters. Her favorable ratings have declined consistently since the last election.

The article does make the point that she may see an opening with many of the would-be candidates dropping out for one reason or another or simply failing to create excitement among the base, and that her purchase of an Arizona home would place her in much better position to mount a campaign than the frozen North. Plus, there's just that ego (my input, not the author's).

This post will put a stop to the "Say hello to President Palin" posts for precisely 25 nanoseconds..

2. It wouldn't be smart for her to run
but that won't necessarily stop her from doing it.

That she will run for Kyl's seat in AZ. She could win there and she could have plenty of face time in front of the camera as the junior Senator from AZ.

Though there is something about her that makes me think she is arrogant enough to think she can pull a Presidential run out of her ass with little planning - that the total specialness that is her will be enough to bring the donors, the voters, and the lamestream media rushing to support her even at the last minute.

Joan of Arc. Riding in to save us all at the last minute. Of course things didn't work out all that well for Joan of Arc at the end of the day.

5. I never would have imagined America could sink so low to even consider her.
The fact that Palin, along with fools like Bachmann and Santorum, are actually discussed seriously as prospective Chief Executives of the "greatest nation ever" is a telling sign that we are no longer that. Our standards are so low! There is little concern for quality leadership any more.

In the long run, we will all get what the odious wingnuts deserve: a country in decline, a squandered opportunity for greatness, and heavy-handed corporate fascism under which we will all suffer. (All but the precious, vital top 2%, that is. They'll be just fine!)

14. Totally agree... and the media is complicit in all this.. in fact they are encourging her.
They only see it as a way to bump ratings. It really is a sad state of affairs.

7. She's more interested in "fame" than in actually working at anything.
She didn't even want to do the work of a Governor, so she resigned. It's all a large publicity ploy, just like "the Donald." A way to pump up their national visibility, nothing more.

10. But she can then write more books and demand more money for appearances
after her failed presidential bid

I don't think she intends to even try and win, it is a publicity stunt.

I still expect her to run.
