The laugh lines would write themselves. But, between the horrible screeching of Palin (that makes whatever stoopid she is pushing that day, besides the point) and crazy eyes Bachman with her "nails on the chalkboard" brand of plain insanity, I don't think I could bear it. Is there some decades long space mission open for volunteers?

There is a slightly odd undercurrent to the entire Palin phenonoma--she's being touted as a potential leader by a group that includes some pretty fundie types--the types that think a woman should serve under a man (yes, I mean that literally and figuratively). What male politician with compatible views and any political ambition would take the VP slot?
