Texas Gov. Perry signs voter restrictions into law
Source: Raw Story
By Stephen C. Webster

Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) signed a bill into law Friday morning that would require voters to present a photo identification before casting a ballot, capping a years-long legislative battle with Democrats, who allege the measure is a thinly-veiled attempt to suppress votes from their core constituencies.

The law contains a provision that will provide special voter ID cards free of charge to citizens who do not have a driver's license, passport, military ID or concealed handgun license.

Voters who show up to polls with only their voter registration cards will be given six days to produce a photo ID, or their ballots will not be counted.

Perry suggested the law was no more complicated than "cashing a check down at the or applying for a library card down the street."

1. Perry must own some of those picture
taking machines my classmates and I used to go into in the 50s and mug for the camera. The only thing was all the pictures needed was a number on our shirts and we would look like inmates in a prison.

2. Bear in mind- much of Texas has NO public transportation

way to go,Rick.

3. Voter restriction/manipulation is the GOPers main strategy in winning elections in the future..
because they know the demographics are against them and getting worse by the day.
