“Give a job to 90,000 teachers? Or give $4 billion to Apple?” (Tax Cheats Campaign)
Edited on Sat May-28-11 12:51 AM by Hannah Bell
The anti- budget cuts group, US Uncut, is a grassroots groundswell of local chapters of activists fighting back against corporate tax dodgers when so many social services are at risk of being chopped. Their message is simple: no budget cuts until tax cheats pay up!

And this week, they took that message to Apple Computer. Let’s see what happens when Americans start filling up Apple stores with flash mobs chanting “I love my iPod, iHate tax cheats!”

7. I'm sure the same thing's been said about Apple.
You know what would be really cool? If instead of exploiting low-wage, no-regulation workplaces in foreign countries and calling for more tax breaks here, they would actually "think different".

I can't believe they're lobbying for the direction our country is headed. Don't they know people need to have money to buy Apple products? They ain't free!

4. Really strange that they would pick Apple over the financial, oil, insurance, and military industry.

No it's not. The video wouldn't be as 'catchy.' And you can walk into Apple Stores.

The real criminals of Wall Street? You can't get a flashmob in their HQs.

I'm not in favor of extra tax breaks for Apple, but they are hardly the problem.

Also it's very strange considering all Apple has done for schools over the years.

But it will look good on TV and that's what this is about.

5. The reason is that Apple is leading a lobbying effort for more ($80B) tax breaks.

9. If you pay money to teachers, they'll just spend it. That doesn't help....
...the economy. Only money that wealthy international business - owners stuff into their already bloated Swiss bank accounts helps the economy.

Only a liberal whackjob would argue differently.

sarcasm thingy here

10. The real truth
Teachers will spend their money on food, housing, etc. Things they need to live. Nothing gets sent back to buy politicians. Corporations will spend some of that money on lobbyists and on hiring relatives of Senators and Congresspersons.

Now, if you were a congressperson only looking after them self, which gives you a greater return on your "investment"?
